The weathered Fishermen’s Winch at Second Valley
The old winch was established at Second Valley in the 1950’s – nonetheless it remains on its concrete pedestal with a wonderful northerly outlook toward the South Mt Lofty Ranges. The winch is all that remains of a group of fishermen’s sheds and slipways that were established on this section of the harbor. The brilliant hues and colours from the afternoon summer light create a superb image of the coastal cliffs and contrast with the calmness of the water. Many a fisherman would have enjoyed this sight!
