This lovely old eucalypt tree now stands guard over the delightful landscape of Sampson Road. This was a delight to paint and is probably my favourite painting…the stark almost silhouetted arabesque shape of the tree…. beautifully lit with the golden light from the grasses reflected onto the trunk and branches of the tree….the sheep have left their trails as they have wondered at this lovely old ‘Guard of Sampson Gully’.
