The “Grotto” near Kununurra in the Kimberley
The Grotto Falls is is an off the main road waterhole about 66 kilometers from Kununurra in the Eastern Kimberley Region. A waterfall drops into a north western facing one sided gorge. The afternoon light catches the red oxide coloured sandstone and reflects off the stark beauty of three boab trees set against the face of the gorge and the fallen rocks that pile up at the base of the gorge… the tree appearing to be out of place. This red image always highlighted by the ultramarine blue sky during the ‘dry’…..is so characteristic of the Kimberley landscape.
