Summer at Axedale

Trees in Australia have generally been described as green, tall, majestic, scrawny or scrubby….however the trees in this painting are a combination of all that….and depending on the time of the year the colors of the trunks and the foliage provide considerable variations in colour – ranging from white, ghost gum white, gray, olive green, green gold, sap green and yellow green, to orange, Azo yellow and of course a range of browns – these beautiful trees convey a significant sense of optimism and portray the bush landscape as an image that reflects “the uniqueness and strength of the Australian character”.
